Now operating from its recently-refurbished new offices close to the heart of the Granite City, local telecoms company, Emerge Communications, is looking forward to a bright future in 2008. Emerge – which specialises in providing telephone systems, networking and support services to a wide range of customers across the UK – made the move to its new premises within Steadfast House, on the city’s Greenwell Road, at the turn of the year. The company, which was formed in 1999 by Managing Director Ron McGregor, relocated to the Altens site to allow for the continued expansion of the business. Its new premises provides double the floor space than was available at its previous headquarters, and offers greatly improved meeting and demonstration facilities for clients. The move already appears to be paying dividends for Emerge – which has unrivalled experience and expertise in telephone systems, VoIP and IP telephony, Unified Communications and both local and inter-site networking – with the company having already secured a number of major contracts during the first quarter of 2008. “The move to our new facility has enabled us to demonstrate more fully, and in a more relaxed and comfortable environment, the extensive range of telecoms technologies we can offer our clients. This, along with the recent re-branding exercise we have undertaken, has already had an extremely positive impact on the business,” says Ron. “At Steadfast House, customers are able to interact more easily with the technology we can offer and experience ‘hands-on’ what solution will best meet their needs. As a specialist provider of communications and network solutions we can advise, supply and support a wide range of systems. We take pride in providing a highly professional response to any business enquiry or problem.” Emerge is a Cisco Select Certified Partner, specialising in Unified Communications, as well as having almost a decade of experience in implementing AVAYA based telecoms solutions as an official AVAYA business partner. All of its engineers are qualified to at least degree level. Ron, who worked for BT for 22 years before forming Emerge nine years ago, believes his background with the telecoms giant gave him an excellent grounding in how to do things correctly when dealing with clients. He says this is an ethos he has worked hard to ensure is adopted throughout his company. Ron added: “At Emerge, we are strong believers that our business is about connecting people –not just machines. We currently have around 100 clients using our systems, including small business start-ups, businesses operating from single sites with over 150 users, and companies with offices in multiple locations.” One such client is leading payroll management specialist, activpayroll, which has appointed Emerge to implement a global communications strategy on its behalf. Alison Smith, Managing Director of activpayroll, said: “Emerge is currently linking all of our offices in the UK, Houston, Singapore and Australia, with all inter-site calls being carried over the Internet – using Voice Over IP – which will significantly reduce our global communications costs. They have also installed automated help-lines which enables us to enhance the service we provide to our customers. “We have been with Emerge from the very outset, and have always been impressed with the professional, personal service they provide. When choosing who should provide our communications solutions it was important we found a company who were able to look at both the global situation as well as our local operations – Emerge fitted the bill perfectly then and still does today.” Ron says that he and his staff see it as their job to raise awareness within the business community of the benefits of new communications’ technologies and to provide a highly personal service which allows these technologies to be implemented and supported in a cost-effective manner. He concluded: “Being able to provide your clients with access to he most up-to-date, cutting-edge technology isn’t enough in itself to attract or retain customers nowadays. In today’s modern business world, communications is far more about people than it is about devices and this is something everyone at Emerge believes very strongly in.” For further information about Emerge Communications, and all the services it offers, please call 01224 577 000, e-mail
